I'm currently looking to buy an XJS, preferably a '95 or 96'. Are these years more reliable then previous years? Also, what is the reliabilty of the v12 versus the v6? I like the idea of the v12, but have heard they can have a lot of problems. Is there any truth to what I hear? These are my 2 major concerns in chosing the right car. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Rick

My first XJS was a '96 4.0L convertible. I am happier with my '95 6.0L convertible but it has been a lot more bucks to maintain.

'95 XJS 6.0L Conv.

PS - XJS was a DOHC straight six not a vee six. The new X Type and S Types have a 3.0L vee six.
