I need to know what is a better alternative tire brand to the standard Pirelli tires the XJS is normally equipped with. The Pirellis are a poor tire for use in average winter conditions.
The car has 15" BBS rims.
Thank-you

I have used both Michelin MXV4 215/70x15 (I think that's what is was....I get the Michelin alpha-designations confused at times) and BF Goodrich VR4 225/60x15 and both give very good traction, steering response, etc. The BFG's may have a slight edge in quietness.

Lex,

You might want to check out "The Book" by Kirby Palm. You can download it off the XJS site on www.jag-lovers.org. There is a good discussion in that book on tires, tire sizes and brands. Also, check the archieves on jag-lovers under the XJS list. This topic has been talked to death over there.
