I am finally in the process of putting the chrome back on to our 1959 XK150 FHC after a very long restoration . I have the original grille but 4 of the six studs are broken off . I hope to have 4 new studs welded or brazed back on , hopefully that won't be a problem . My question is are all the studs the same length and is there some type of special washers or grommets that fit on the hood to receive the studs as the studs on the grille are 3/16" in diameter and the holes on the hood are almost 3/8" in diameter ? I also bought a new pair of gutter moldings to replace the originals , I did not realize that the gutter is a 2 piece system a chrome cap that goes over an aluminum frame . I really need a new aluminum frames and was told by the parts supplier that they do not make them . Does anyone know if you can purchase new aluminum frames ? Any and all advise would be appreciated . Thank you .
