I like the looks of this new Jag, but haven't had an opportunity to see one. My son Eric intends to order one shortly. I've been thinking along those same lines myself. Haven't bought a new Jag since my '99 XJR, a great car.

I'm interested in hearing opinions from those who have seen the XF, and/or from one who's actually driven one. In particular, how are the electric parking brake and the new transmission selector being viewed?

I'd like to see much more about this car here on jcna.com. The COMPANY should do something at the AGM in March! They should do a ride-and-drive there, even though there may be snow at that time.

They should make a BIG SPLASH there, with this car. Is that going to take place? If not, then shame on Jaguar marketing! How can we get them to do it?

I currently have an 04 XJ8; finest car I have ever owned (including several Mercedes'). I have been looking for a new car over the past couple of months, and have driven the following: Mercedes E350, BMW535, Infiniti M45, Cadillac CTS, Audi A6 and Acura RL, and finally - the new XF Supercharged. In fit, finish, performance, and interior appointments, the XF blows the other away!

YouÔÇÖve probably read other reviews of the XF, focusing on power, shifting, handling and styling. All true! However, I havenÔÇÖt read much about the electronics, so here is what I found.

Almost every system in the XF is controlled by the touch screen and/or voice commands, with minimal manual buttons below. The nav system appeared to be very quick and intuitive. The Bluetooth system paired with my Razr phone with no problems, and I was pleased to see my phonebook pop up on the screen!

The quality of the sound system is as good as or better than any I have heard. The Ipod hookup is a full interface; the Ipod menu on the touch screen looks very similar to the one on the Ipod itself, and is accessed by touchscreen controls. The system even has a USB port. I connected a flash key with a few tunes on it, and they showed up on the touch screen in their named folders. DidnÔÇÖt try the CD changer; who needs it with the Ipod? In my opinion, a more complete sound system than any of the other cars listed above.

By the way, I did not like the looks of the XF when I first saw pictures of it. Who wants a car with a Volvo front end and a Camry back end? However, the XF is gorgeous car in person and on the road ÔÇô appears much more derivative of the XK.

So, I am picking up my new XF Supercharged (red, of course) next week. Will let you know how it wears.
