How rare are the Daimler Vanden Plas cars? | Jaguar Clubs of North America

I am thinking of buying a Daimler Vanden Plas 1983 4.2. It is not in great condition but very cheap, but how rare are these cars? How many VDP were made of all the Daimlers?
