Has anybody found a way to get more performace from the 4.0L 6 cyl. engine without spending a fortune. I love the styling of the XJS, but it would be nice if it ran as good as it looked. Usually the exhaust is the first place to start, don't know in this case.

Raymond,

There's been a lot written on improving performance in the V-12 cars, not sure about the 6's. You should check out "The Book" by Kirby Palm on www.jag-lovers.org. Although oriented to the V-12, there may be some useful information there about the 6 cyl. cars.

Also, check out AJ6 Engineering at: http://www.jagweb.com/aj6eng/ They have done a lot of work on improving performance in Jaguar engines, especially the newer, fuel injected cars, and sell a lot of after-market modifications to get the most from these engines.

Hope that helps.
