Hi forum
I am looking to replace worn tires on a series one E type.
Wheels are the standard, original 5 inch dunlop wires.

There seems to be new choices now available - looks like several companies are re-making the old profile tires with radial high speed spec:
Dunlop 185VR15 "aqua jet"
Pirelli 185VR15 Centurato
Michelin 185VR15 XVS

These are the higher end tires, I know Vredestein is also available as a 'bargain' brand.

Any suggestions? We all love bargains, but I've always felt I shouldn't skimp at the precise point where 'the rubber hits the road' hence I want radials, and I am willing to shell out whatever premium I need to.

Also it looks like you can save quite a bundle on these tires by buying them in the UK and having them shipped over ... US prices are 60% more in some cases.

Anyway - any insight to these models, or other alternatives - I would appreciate!
thank you

They are a wider section and for Michelins cheap I love the Harmony 205/70 R15s
They were on car when I got it . Good tire easily available for touring in US SPEEDLIMITED 113mph

On the Liege Brescia Liege last summer in Europe , I figured the Boss was not up to 100mph so a 150 mph tire a waste. The Harmonys had under 1000 miles on them
Great handling on the Autobahn at a legal 110 mph
Roads there get seriously wet and they were terrific

Hi Jeff,
I have the Vredesteins on three Jags (two E, FHC's and a MK2) and I love them. The set on my S2 FHC has gone over 13K miles in the last few years without any issues. Most of the mileage was fast highway driving. Tread wear has been minimal. Good in the rain. I don't consider them the "bargain" brand, but the others "over priced". Also, you can shop the internet for good prices on Vredesteins while the others seem to be available from limited sources.

Mike.
